The Aquacell water treatment system at Kurrajong treats all the wastewater generated in the Tallowood Community Estate.

Where is the wastewater treated at Kurrajong?
The waste water treatment plant and irrigation disposal field are located within the boundaries of the Tallowood Community Estate.
How is treated water disposed of at Kurrajong?
Treated water is disposed of by sub-surface irrigation. The irrigation field is located adjacent to the treatment plant.

What precautions are in place on-site?
Aquacell remotely monitors the operation of the treatment plant and undertakes periodic water sampling to verify treated water quality. In addition, the scheme is licensed under the Water Industry Competition Act (WICA) and is independently audited.

You can help keep the system running at its optimum by following some simple guidelines.
Please do
- Contact the Tallowood Community Associate if you experience any problems with your sewage system.
- Seek information from Aquacell if you do not understand the sewage treatment and disposal. Their contact information is listed below.
Please don’t
- Don’t drink treated water – it is non-potable.
- Don’t attempt to alter or repair any of the plumbing
- Don’t put any of these materials down the drain:
- Detergents
- Fertilisers
- Chemicals
- Pharmaceuticals
- Pet care products
- Silicon or silicon based products
- Bleach
- Paint or paint thinners
- Turps
- High-foaming degreasers
- Windex
- Draino or caustic soda
- Rags
- Sanitary products
- Wet wipes
- Engine oil or other synthetic oils or fuel products
