Salesforce Tower in San Francisco has been designed at the forefront of sustainability. Awareness of the Californian climate and its limited water resources, paired with a corporate ethos of sustainability has led Salesforce to incorporate the first large-scale blackwater system in a commercial high-rise in California; an Aquacell.
The Aquacell is designed to produce 30,000 gallons per day of recycled water for non-potable reuse. General Manager of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission Dennis Herrera noted “The water recycling system at Salesforce Tower is a pioneering example of what the future looks like for our state.
